Dr. JoAnna Pendergrass is a veterinarian and freelance medical writer. She is the owner of JPen Communications, a medical communications company that she founded in 2016.
With a passion for pet owner education, Dr. Pendergrass has written hundreds of articles on a variety of pet care topics, including nutrition, flea & tick prevention, and senior pet health. Her business mission is to provide pet parents with accurate medical information and empower them to make good health decisions for their pets.
Dr. Pendergrass has been interviewed for the Write & Prosper website and the Career Girls organization. She has also been featured in The Hampton Roads Messenger, VoyageATL, and The Mighty Marketer.
She is a member of the American Medical Writers Association and has served as secretary, president, and immediate past president of AMWA’s Southeast chapter. She also serves on the board of Georgia Bio’s Emerging Leaders Network.
In her spare time, Dr. Pendergrass enjoys spending time with her husband and serving as principal violist for the Atlanta Musicians’ Orchestra in Atlanta, GA.
